Gateway Village Children’s Center is a religiously-exempt ministry of Gateway Community Church, offering preschool, kindergarten enrichment and after school care for children ranging from 2 to 11 years of age. Located in the Dulles South area on 17 acres, our brand new, state-of-the-art facility has over 36,000 square feet of indoor space and a spacious outdoor playground.



Preschool Lead Teacher

We are currently seeking an energetic, loving and highly skilled Preschool Lead Teacher to join our team of professionals. Due to increased enrollment, we have immediate vacancies available. The position is part-time, with instructional hours from 9:00am – 12:00pm or 12:30pm – 3:30pm. The preschool is open from September to early June and generally follows the Loudoun County Public School calendar with respect to holidays and school closings. Candidates must have excellent references, reliable transportation, and be willing to commit to working the entire school year.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement the curriculum through planning age appropriate activities to meet the needs of the whole child in a fun and interactive environment
  • Ensure the daily care and well-being of every child by following all policies and procedures of the center
  • Provide written assessment of student developmental milestones and achievements
  • Serve as primary point of contact for parents for day to day activities and progress of children; communicate effectively with parents, staff and leadership team
  • Develop classroom schedules and routines that ensure children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime
  • Keeping the classroom organized and clean; prepping classroom to ensure it is ready each day before students arrive
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience as a teacher in a preschool or early childhood education environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent preferred
  • The ability to obtain certification in adult and pediatric CPR and First Aid is required
  • Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
  • Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans
