Gateway Village Children’s Center is a religiously-exempt ministry of Gateway Community Church, offering preschool, kindergarten enrichment and after school care for children ranging from 2 to 11 years of age. Located in the Dulles South area on 17 acres, our brand new, state-of-the-art facility has over 36,000 square feet of indoor space and a spacious outdoor playground.



Extended Day Program (After School Teacher)

We are currently seeking an energetic, loving and highly skilled After School Teacher (1:30-6:30 pm) to join our team of professionals. If you are inspired by the love of learning, are passionate about education and committed to serving the needs of families, then we want to hear from you.

 

The position is part-time, with instructional hours from 1:30 to 6:30 pm. Gateway Village follows the Loudoun County Public School calendar with respect to holidays and school closings. Candidates must have excellent references, reliable transportation, and be willing to commit to working the entire school year.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Managing the care for students in grades K-5 
  • Implement the school curriculum
  • Communicates with parents and ensures that all policies and procedures of GVCC are followed
  • Maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment; ensure classroom schedule and activities are followed
  • Ensuring that Lesson Plans/Activities are fun and engaging; materials are available and accessible for all students
  • Completing administrative duties such as illness/accident reports, student check-in/out records etc. in a timely manner
  • Guiding students during daily Bible time and providing spiritual guidance and encouragement
  • Implementing classroom management strategies that align with GVCC policy and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience with elementary aged students
  • A high-energy team player who works well with children, parents and staff
  • A strong understanding of emotional and developmental needs of children
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills
  • The ability to obtain certification in adult and pediatric CPR and First Aid is required
  • Ability to pass background screenings
